Delete your Midan account

You can delete your account at any time. This page documents the official procedure compliant with the App Store and Google Play, plus exactly what data is removed immediately versus retained for legal or accounting reasons.

1. Delete inside the app

The official, fastest method. Takes under a minute and requires no contact with support.

    Open the Midan app

    Sign in with your usual account if prompted.

    Go to the “My Account” tab

    The user-icon at the bottom navigation bar.

    Scroll to the bottom of the page

    Below the settings & preferences sections.

    Tap the “Delete account” button

    The red button below the settings list.

    Confirm the deletion request

    You may be asked to enter your password or a WhatsApp OTP to prevent accidental deletion.

⚠️ Warning: After deletion, your account, booking history, and loyalty points cannot be restored. Save any important information before proceeding.

2. Alternative deletion methods

If you can’t access your account or lost your device, you may request deletion via:

  • Email: support@midan.fun — Send from the email registered with the account, including your phone number for verification.
  • WhatsApp: +968 7701 8308 — Available 24/7.
  • Contact form: Contact page — Select “Account deletion” in the subject field.

We respond within 48 working hours and verify your identity before executing deletion.

3. What is deleted immediately

  • Full name, email, phone number, date of birth
  • Profile picture
  • Password (bcrypt-hashed — purged)
  • Favorite stadiums and saved lists
  • Notification preferences
  • Device registry (FCM tokens)
  • Unused loyalty points
  • Reviews and ratings (anonymised or deleted)

4. What is retained and why

Some data must be retained for legal, accounting, and payment-gateway compliance. After deletion, this data is no longer linked to your personal info — it is referenced by an anonymised ID.

After retention periods expire, this data is permanently deleted.

5. Active bookings & subscriptions

If you have upcoming bookings: You’ll be asked to cancel or complete them before deletion. Cancellation may be subject to the stadium’s refund policy.

If you have an active subscription: You must cancel the subscription first from your billing settings. We do not auto-renew after a deletion request.

Remaining balance: If you have a loyalty balance or unrefunded amount, contact support before deletion to settle the account.

6. Deletion timeline

  • Immediately: You are signed out from all devices and app access stops.
  • Within 24 hours: Your personal data is removed from the production database.
  • Within 30 days: Data is purged from rolling backups.
  • After 7 years: Anonymised financial records are permanently deleted.

7. Stadium owners & team admins

If you are a team owner or admin, account deletion is subject to additional terms to protect existing player data and bookings:

  • You must transfer team ownership to another admin, or cancel all active bookings and close the team.
  • Any active team subscription must be cancelled before deleting the account.
  • Your personal data is deleted, but team stadiums and accounting records remain with the team per the retention policy above.

A team-owner account cannot be deleted without transferring ownership first — the request will be auto-rejected.
